Jake Hirsch

Jake Hirsch is currently the Video Producer for Governor Phil Murphy and the State of New Jersey. Before working for Governor Murphy, he was the in-house Digital Content Producer for Governor Kathy Hochul’s 2022 campaign, where he produced over 100 videos for her campaign and was her lead campaign photographer. His photographs of Governor Hochul were featured in the New York Times and Marie Claire. He has created videos for Amoy Barnes for City Council, Suraj Patel for Congress, Kenya Handy-Hilliard for City Council, Dawn Smalls for Public Advocate, and Grace Lee for Assembly. He is a graduate of the film and television program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he minored in politics. Years after graduating, his feature screenplay, Funeral Season was selected by the NYU Production Lab incubator for their Development Studio, where he was mentored by Tony Gilroy, (writer, Bourne Trilogy), Kasi Lemmons (writer, Harriet), and Terence Winter (creator, Boardwalk Empire). Funeral Season won 2nd Place (Features) at the Slamdance Screenplay Competition, was a finalist in the Script Lab Screenplay Competition and was a quarter-finalist in the Richmond International Film Festival. His short film, Richard, was the recipient of the Akhtar-Bhutta grant and was produced by Sam Pollard (editor, Mo’ Better Blues). The film was selected to be screened at NYU Alumni’s Social Impact Film Festival.
